FROM SCIENCE TO ART
I was graduated as a physicist, had a scientific career in the USSR Academy of Sciences, then in Europe and finally in the UK.I greatly enjoyed the scientific era of my life. It is great to discover the secrets of nature, challenging but very inspiring! Apart from my interest in science as long as I can remember I have been interested in the arts. Being a scientist requires imagination and creativity, which helped me to get a step into the world of art. I am inspired by photography as a medium of self-expression. In particularly, what works for me is taking pictures showing the way how I feel about my subjects, rather than just featuring them. I am also greatly inspired of the possibilities for combining artistic photography and digital painting. In conjunction with newly arrived Geclee high quality fine art printing techniques and materials it produces a new art medium, giving a new approach to the world of visual arts. The art creation process for me is mindfulness, which I hope comes across in my pictures.
I have joint Royal Photographic Society (RPS) and was awarded the Licentiateship (LRPS) and the Associateship (ARPS). My pictures and picture portfolios have been published in several books and magazines. I have exhibited my work solo and as part of different groups for more ten years. This year my picture portfolio was shortlisted at RHS photographic competition and will be exhibited at the RHS Show in London in July.
